PT TIMAH Tbk Collaborates with BKKBN to Support Stunting Reduction Towards Golden Generation 2045

PANGKALPINANG – As a form of commitment to supporting the government’s program in realizing the Golden Generation 2045, PT TIMAH Tbk is collaborating with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province to accelerate the reduction of stunting in Indonesia.

Through this partnership, PT TIMAH Tbk plays a role in strengthening efforts to improve community health and nutrition, especially for pregnant women, toddlers, and families at risk of stunting in the company’s operational areas.

PT TIMAH Tbk supports the “Genting” movement (Foster Parents Prevent Stunting) initiated by BKKBN Bangka Belitung. This program is a joint initiative aimed at lowering stunting prevalence in the region.

Head of BKKBN Bangka Belitung, Fajar Sentosa, stated that PT TIMAH Tbk’s support will be delivered in the form of nutritious food for 90 beneficiary families across six districts/cities, namely: Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Regency, Central Bangka, South Bangka, West Bangka, and East Belitung.

“We will distribute this assistance to six districts that are our focus areas due to their high stunting rates and levels of poverty,” said Fajar.

Fajar appreciated PT TIMAH Tbk’s support in the effort to reduce stunting in the region. He noted that although stunting prevalence in Bangka Belitung has declined, support from various stakeholders remains crucial.

“We hope other companies also contribute through CSR or TJSL programs, such as by helping build proper sanitation facilities for underprivileged communities, to make stunting prevention efforts more effective,” he added.

Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT TIMAH Tbk, said the company’s involvement in this program is part of its social responsibility to help build a superior and healthy human resource base.

“This collaborative effort is expected to accelerate stunting eradication. Through synergy with BKKBN, the company remains committed to creating a healthy, intelligent, and productive generation toward Indonesia Emas 2045,” said Anggi.

Anggi further explained that PT TIMAH Tbk also runs various programs to combat stunting, one of which is the Kemunting Program (Movement to Reduce Stunting).

The Kemunting Program is a stunting prevention initiative by PT TIMAH targeting pregnant women and toddlers from low-income families in areas surrounding its mining operations.

In addition, the program also targets students as part of stunting prevention education efforts. PT TIMAH Tbk also provides additional nutritious food for children suffering from stunting.
