PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah Tbk and its subsidiaries held their annual Oikumene Christmas celebration at Graha Timah on Saturday (18/1/2025).
This year's celebration, themed "Return to Bethlehem" (Luke 2:15), was attended by the Director of Human Resources, Hendra Kusuma Wardana, the Independent Commissioner, representatives from the PT TIMAH Tbk Workers' Union, retirees, and employees.
The festive event began with a communal worship service, followed by entertainment featuring performances by Putri Siagian.
As part of its social responsibility, PT Timah Tbk also assisted several churches in the surrounding areas, including GKI Manggar Church in East Belitung, Geperkis Air Sejuk Church in Sijuk Belitung, GKMI Batu Betumpang Church in Toboali Basel, Methodist Church in Pangkalpinang, and GBI Rock Church in Merawang, Bangka Regency.
Committee Chair Rommel Hutabarat expressed his gratitude to all parties who participated in this year's Christmas celebration.
“The Oikumene Christmas celebration is not only a moment of togetherness but also a platform to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among all PT Timah employees from diverse backgrounds and beliefs,” he said.
PT TIMAH Tbk’s Director of Human Resources, Hendra Kusuma Wardana, delivered a meaningful Christmas message.
“With the spirit of Christmas joy tonight, let us unite to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. Tonight’s theme, 'Return to Bethlehem,' reminds us of the values of love, peace, and simplicity, and encourages us to continue fostering a spirit of social, humanitarian, and ecological service,” Hendra remarked.
Echoing this sentiment, IKT Workers’ Union Chair Riki Febriansyah urged all PT Timah employees to collaborate without regard to differences.
“PT Timah Tbk, which we all cherish, was built on the foundation of diverse backgrounds and differences. However, through the spirit of unity and mutual support, we have brought PT Timah to the achievements we enjoy today,” he stated.
The Oikumene Christmas celebration served not only as a spiritual reflection but also as a reminder of the importance of togetherness, love, and social responsibility amid diversity.
This event is expected to strengthen employee relationships and foster a spirit of collaboration in building the company and the surrounding community. (*)
