PT TIMAH Tbk and Partner Distribute 200 Rice Packages to Coastal Residents of Sungailiat

BANGKA -- PT TIMAH Tbk, together with its mining partner CV Kencana Jaya Mandiri, demonstrated their care for coastal communities by distributing 200 packages of rice to low-income residents in Sungailiat Subdistrict, Bangka Regency, on Friday (November 21, 2025).

The aid was handed over symbolically by the Head Section of Land Mine Supervision at PT TIMAH Tbk, Wendi Isjana, accompanied by Nangnung Neighborhood Head Edo Merdiano and Parit Pekir Neighborhood Head Muhammad Rozi, at the Special Sector Weighing Post in the Sungailiat Area.

The assistance was designated for low-income residents, the elderly, orphans, and persons with disabilities as part of the company’s efforts to strengthen food support in coastal areas.

Nangnung Neighborhood Head, Edo Merdiano, expressed his appreciation for the concern shown by PT TIMAH Tbk and its mining partner toward the local community. He said this assistance proves that mining activities can still provide benefits to surrounding residents.

“Thank you to PT TIMAH Tbk and its mining partner for contributing to our community. This is an example of how the mining industry cares about coastal residents. This assistance is very beneficial for our people,” he said.

He explained that recipients were residents who had been registered as low-income individuals, elderly citizens, orphans, and persons with disabilities. For those unable to attend due to health conditions, the aid would be delivered directly to their homes.

Meanwhile, the Parit Pekir Neighborhood Head, Muhammad Rozi, stated that the assistance reflects the company’s genuine concern for the community’s food needs.

“We are very grateful for this assistance. It is a blessed Friday for our residents. Thank you to PT TIMAH for caring about the coastal community,” he said.

He emphasized that data collection for recipients was entrusted entirely to local neighborhood units (RT) to ensure the aid was distributed accurately. He hopes that the synergy between the company and the community will continue to strengthen.

Endang Sri Susanti (48), a resident of Putus Street, South Nangnung, said she was very grateful for the rice assistance, which will help meet her daily needs.

“Alhamdulillah, I’m happy. This is a blessing and a big help. I hope PT TIMAH in Bangka continues to be successful. If possible, we hope this assistance can be provided every month to help people here who are struggling,” she said.

A similar sentiment was shared by Rino Saputra (51), a resident of Central Nangnung, who said the assistance greatly helps his family’s food needs.

“Alhamdulillah, I’m very happy. I feel motivated and hope this program continues. We hope the assistance can be given monthly because even though it seems small, it means a lot to us,” he said. (*)
