PT Timah Tbk Again Spreads Hundreds of Crab Seeds on Kundur Beach and Plants Fir Trees in Kundur Park

KARIMUN -- To increase the crab population in the Kundur Beach area, PT Timah Tbk released 400 crab seeds at Kundur Beach, Friday (2/9/2022).

The release of hundreds of crab seeds was attended by the Director of Human Resources of PT Timah Tbk, Yennita, Director of Finance of PT Timah Tbk Fina Eliani, and Insan Timah as well as representatives from the Karimun Regency Government in an activity entitled Friday In Timah.

The release of crab seeds is expected to have a good impact on maintaining environmental ecosystems, increasing the population of our crabs so that they can have an economic impact on fishermen. Moreover, the Kundur Beach area has a fertile mangrove forest.

"Today we are releasing hundreds of crab seeds, hopefully, these crab seeds can develop properly which will certainly have an impact on the population is maintained. This area is surrounded by mangrove trees that thrive so that these crab seeds can certainly adapt to the environment that is in accordance with their natural habitat, " said the HR Director of PT Timah Tbk Yennita.

Before releasing the crabs, the group took a leisurely walk as far as 3 KM and also planted fir trees in the Kundur Park area.

This cypress planting is an effort by PT Timah Tbk to beautify the Kundur Park area so that people are more comfortable when visiting. In addition, as an effort to protect the environment.

"Hopefully the cypress seeds that we plant can live well so that later they can beautify the Kundur Park Planter tourist location as a form of our concern for the environment around us," she said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Environment Agency of Karimun Regency, Riyana appreciated PT Timah Tbk's steps to care for the environment by involving the community.

"PT Timah often does plantings such as cypress and mangroves. In addition, restocking crab seeds like what we are doing today is very good because it can maintain crab populations in their natural habitat. Hopefully, the crab seeds that we released today will be able to breed well," she said.
