PANGKALPINANG - In an era filled with challenges and natural disaster risks, PT Timah Tbk plays an active role in assisting victims of natural disasters in its operational areas.
Assisting in disaster management is part of the company's corporate social responsibility. PT Timah Tbk swiftly collaborates with stakeholders to aid in disaster management at both local and national levels.
In 2023, PT Timah Tbk has also provided assistance in handling a tornado disaster in the village of Jeriji, South Bangka, delivering aid to fire victims for two residents in West Bangka Regency, and distributing basic necessities to landslide victims in Natuna, Riau Islands.
In addition to disaster relief efforts, PT Timah Tbk is actively involved in disaster mitigation initiatives. Just last weekend, PT Timah Tbk, together with Kodim 0413/West Bangka, organized a community work day and mangrove planting to prevent floods in Muntok, West Bangka.
Furthermore, PT Timah Tbk has trained residents of Badau Village, Belitung Regency, in firefighting and natural disaster response in the recent past.
As a member of the mining industry holding company MIND ID, PT Timah Tbk also has an Emergency Response Group (ERG) team on standby to carry out humanitarian missions to assist disaster victims.
Anggi Siahaan, Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, stated that the company was also involved in assisting with firefighting in its operational areas during the last dry season.
