EAST BELITUNG -- As part of its support for youth development, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk supported a Ramadan Islamic camp organized by the youth group of As Salam 1 Mosque in Desa Baru Village, Manggar District, East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Friday (6/3/2026).
The assistance from PT TIMAH was provided to support the implementation of the Ramadan camp program, which has become an annual agenda of the As Salam 1 Mosque youth group as part of youth development efforts in the village community. The activity not only focuses on strengthening religious values but also equips participants with leadership and literacy materials.
The advisor of the As Salam 1 Mosque youth group, Azy, said the Ramadan camp was designed to help shape the character of young people so they can become more devoted in their faith and play a positive role in society.
“In this Ramadan camp, we do not only focus on religious activities, but we also provide materials on youth leadership and literacy. Our hope is that these young people will grow into a generation that is more devoted, has strong moral values, and can carry themselves with dignity in community life,” he said.
He explained that the Ramadan camp was held over two days and marked the second time the program has been organized after it was first held last year. This year, the number of participants increased significantly.
“Alhamdulillah, the number of participants increased this year. Previously it only involved participants from one village at the elementary and junior high school levels, but this year we expanded the scope to the district level with junior high school students from across Manggar District,” he said.
During the program, the committee invited several speakers with expertise in their respective fields to deliver materials to the participants.
Azy added that PT TIMAH’s support for the Ramadan camp was not the first time. This year marks the second time the company has provided assistance to support the youth mosque development program.
“On behalf of the mosque management and the youth of As Salam 1 Mosque, we would like to thank PT TIMAH Tbk for supporting this activity. PT TIMAH’s presence through this assistance during Ramadan has greatly helped us in carrying out youth development programs,” he said.
He hopes the synergy between the company and the community, particularly mosque administrators, can continue so that youth development activities within houses of worship can be carried out sustainably. (*)
