The visit served as an important moment for students to learn more about the Defense University while broadening their understanding of various future career opportunities.
The Principal of SMAN 1 Pemali, Eflina, expressed appreciation for the presence of the Defense University team, facilitated by PT TIMAH, noting that the activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the students.
“Thank you for trusting SMAN 1 Pemali as the venue for this outreach program, which was also attended by students from SMAN 1 Sungailiat. Information about the Defense University is very important for our students’ future. Therefore, we also invited students from SMAN 1 Sungailiat so they could receive the same benefits,” she added.
She said the visit left a strong impression on the students and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity to learn more about the Defense University.
“Usually, during outreach sessions, students can be quite noisy. But today I saw them more focused and attentive. We hope this activity provides enlightenment and motivation for our students as the next generation of the nation, because they will eventually fill strategic roles, whether in the military, industries such as PT Timah, education, or other professions,” she said.
One of the participating students, Ulfia Maharani, stated that the outreach from the Defense University was very beneficial for her. She even expressed interest in applying for the selection process.
“I’m very interested and plan to apply to the Defense University because it has been one of my dreams. They offer scholarships, so if I’m accepted, it will help ease my parents’ financial burden for my education,” she said.
“I also just learned that the Defense University offers many majors, from diploma to doctoral programs, and that it has a semi-military dormitory system that helps shape students into national defense cadres,” she added.
Similarly, Firdaus Langit Putra, a tenth-grade student, said he is very interested in applying to the Defense University.
“I’m interested in applying because they have a medical faculty, which aligns with my dream of becoming a doctor. This activity has increased my motivation to study harder,” he said.
