BELITUNG - PT Timah continues to support the progress of education on Belitung Island, one of which is by assisting in improving educational facilities. This time, PT Timah is helping to build a standard cafeteria at SDN 10 Sijuk, Sijuk District, Belitung District.
The Head of SDN 10 Sijuk, Achmadi, stated that the entire school community, consisting of teachers and staff, committee management and members, as well as the head of Selumar village, are very happy about the assistance provided by PT Timah to their school.
"For this happiness, we express our deepest gratitude to PT Timah. We hope PT Timah is always successful, and its employees receive safety in both this world and the hereafter," said Achmadi.
According to Achmadi, their previous cafeteria was not in good condition and did not meet health standards, especially since the cafeteria was located in front of the school's toilets. Therefore, they planned to build a new cafeteria.
"The condition of the previous cafeteria at our school was not suitable and did not meet health standards, especially since the cafeteria was located in front of the school's toilets," he explained.
However, they faced budget constraints for building a decent cafeteria.
"After serving for a month at SDN 10 Sijuk as the school principal, I, along with the school committee, discussed the future development of the school. We considered the need for a healthy school cafeteria, so we agreed to procure a healthy school cafeteria by submitting a proposal to PT Timah Tbk," he added.
According to him, after receiving assistance from PT Timah Tbk, they will build a healthy school cafeteria with the budget obtained from PT Timah Tbk and other aid.
The construction will be carried out gradually, as they plan to improve the quality of the cafeteria according to the budgetary capabilities obtained in the future.
"We hope that PT Timah, as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN), will always contribute, especially in the field of education in Indonesia. We have great expectations for PT Timah Tbk to support our school's educational programs in efforts to improve the quality of graduates," he concluded. (*)
