KARIMUN — PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to support the community’s religious activities as part of the company’s commitment to the communities surrounding its operational areas. One of its initiatives is assistance provided to Nur Hidayah Mosque in Kampung Ranggam, Tebing Subdistrict, Tebing District, Karimun Regency.
The assistance was used by the mosque’s management to purchase an air conditioner (AC). Previously, Nur Hidayah Mosque did not have an AC and relied solely on fans to maintain worshippers’ comfort during religious activities.
Chairman of Nur Hidayah Mosque, Muhammad Arif, said the assistance from PT TIMAH was very beneficial in improving the comfort of worshippers, particularly amid increasingly hot weather conditions.
“We used the assistance from PT TIMAH to purchase an AC. Previously, the mosque did not have an air conditioner and only used fans. With the AC, worshippers can certainly feel more comfortable while carrying out their worship,” said Muhammad Arif.
He explained that Nur Hidayah Mosque has a capacity of around 200 worshippers. With many members of the community using the mosque for worship, having an air conditioner was considered an important need.
“Especially with the weather being quite hot these days. Quite a large number of worshippers come to pray, so we feel that an AC is indeed needed to improve their comfort,” he said.
Muhammad Arif expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by PT TIMAH, which has helped improve the mosque’s facilities and infrastructure.
“We would like to thank PT TIMAH for this assistance. Hopefully, it will help improve the comfort of worshippers when carrying out their religious activities at the mosque,” he said.
He also expressed hope that PT TIMAH’s attention to communities around its operational areas would continue, including through support for religious activities.
According to him, the company’s commitment is also felt by the community through various other forms of assistance, including sacrificial animals donated by PT TIMAH to mosques every year.
“We hope that PT TIMAH will continue to support the community in the future, including through assistance for mosques and religious activities. Every year, we also experience PT TIMAH’s concern through its sacrificial animal donations. This demonstrates the company’s attention to the community,” he said. (*)
