PT TIMAH Supports Sirah Nabawiyah Competition in Gemuruh Village to Celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday 1448 H

KUNDUR -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, through its Kundur Area, supported the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday 1448 Hijri, organized by the Islamic Holiday Committee (PHBI) of Gemuruh Village in collaboration with the PHBI of Al Inayah Mosque in Gemuruh Village on Thursday (September 10, 2026).

The event featured various religious competitions for children and teenagers, including short surah memorization competitions for kindergarten, early childhood education, and elementary school students, as well as a young preacher competition for elementary and junior high school students.

PT TIMAH’s support for the event is part of the company’s contribution to positive community activities around its operational areas, particularly initiatives that promote religious education and help develop the potential of younger generations.

Event Chairman Sawaluddin expressed his appreciation to the community, the organizing committee, and PT TIMAH for supporting the event commemorating Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday.

“We would like to thank the entire community for their support in making this event possible, especially the management of PT TIMAH’s Kundur Area for supporting the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday 1448 H/2026,” Sawaluddin said.

According to him, the event was not only an opportunity to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad but also a way to introduce children to stories about the Prophet and his exemplary character from an early age.

“This event is an expression of our love for the Prophet. We also want to encourage children from an early age to learn about the Prophet through stories of his life, including how he struggled to spread the faith and led people from an age of darkness toward a life enlightened by knowledge,” he said.

In addition to providing religious education, the competitions are expected to serve as a platform for identifying and developing the potential of children in Gemuruh Village and surrounding areas.

“This event also provides an opportunity to identify promising young talent that we can continue to nurture in the future,” Sawaluddin added.

Acting Head of Kundur Barat Subdistrict Azman also expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s support for community activities, particularly those that provide opportunities for children to develop their potential.

According to him, religious activities such as young preacher and short surah memorization competitions can provide positive alternatives for younger generations amid the growing influence of digital devices.

“PT TIMAH’s support is truly felt by the community. This is a positive activity that we need to support together for the advancement of our children and younger generations in the future,” Azman said.

He said the increasingly widespread use of digital devices needs to be balanced with activities that help develop children’s abilities, creativity, and confidence.

“Today, the influence of digital devices is increasingly difficult to avoid, so we need to provide guidance to prevent children from becoming overly dependent on them. Activities like this are one way to do that. Children can build their confidence by performing in front of an audience, giving them valuable experience to continue developing their potential,” he said.

Azman expressed hope that similar activities could continue to be held on a regular basis and expanded to reach more children and teenagers, providing them with greater opportunities to develop their potential.

“Hopefully, activities like this can continue in the future and, if possible, be expanded to cover the entire Kundur Barat Subdistrict,” he concluded. (*)
