PT Timah Supports Road Repair for Fishermen in Penyusuk, Facilitating Coastal Economic Activities

BANGKA -- As part of its commitment to supporting coastal communities, PT Timah has assisted in repairing the access road leading to the fishermen’s area in Penyusuk, Ramadan Indah Subdistrict, Belinyu District, Bangka Regency.

This road has long served as the main route for residents in carrying out their daily activities. Previously damaged and difficult to pass, the road has now been improved, making it safer and more suitable for use.

The access road is vital for fishermen as it is the route they use to transport their catch. In addition to fishermen, the road is also used by local residents for their daily activities.

The Head of Penyusuk Neighborhood, Siswantoro, explained that the road repaired by PT Timah is an important access route for fishermen heading to the boat docking area and for transporting their catch.

“The condition of the road was badly damaged, and during the rainy season it was often dangerous for drivers passing through. Yet this access is very important for fishermen as it leads to the coast and the boat area,” he said.

He expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk for supporting the road repairs carried out through community cooperation. According to him, this improvement will help drive the local economy.

Previously, the road had been repaired, but due to the soil condition, it was quickly damaged again.

“Now the road has been leveled, culverts have been installed to create proper drainage, so we hope it will last longer. In the past, even after being repaired, it quickly deteriorated. Thank you to PT Timah for the support,” he added.

Department Head of Corporate Communication PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the road repair is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the field of infrastructure.

“PT Timah Tbk hopes this road improvement will bring real benefits to fishermen and coastal communities. With better access, residents’ mobility will be smoother and the local economy can grow faster,” he said.

Through this support, Anggi also hopes that better infrastructure can enhance coastal economic activities and improve fishermen’s welfare. (*)
