PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing communities around its mining areas through programs that provide tangible benefits.
One of the company’s key initiatives is assisting with constructing, renovating, and providing facilities for places of worship. This program aims to create a conducive environment for social and religious activities while strengthening spiritual values within the community.
Through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, PT Timah regularly supports places of worship in its operational areas to facilitate social and religious activities.
The assistance includes renovating worship facilities, constructing new places of worship, improving infrastructure, and supporting religious events held at these sites.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah, emphasized the central role of places of worship in community life.
“Places of worship are not just for prayer but also serve as hubs for social, educational, and moral development. By supporting well-maintained worship facilities, we aim to contribute to building a harmonious society,” Anggi explained.
PT Timah’s assistance covers all places of worship, including mosques, churches, temples, and monasteries, as a sign of respect for diversity.
“PT Timah is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that supports peaceful and harmonious religious life,” Anggi added.
One of the beneficiaries of this program is Masjid Nurul Hibah in Pangkalpinang. Irwansyah, a representative of the mosque’s management board, expressed his appreciation for PT Timah’s support.
“We hope this assistance benefits the community and becomes a source of ongoing good deeds for PT Timah. May the company continue to thrive and provide positive contributions to society,” Irwansyah said.
He noted that Masjid Nurul Hibah serves not only as a place of worship but also as a center for Islamic education and youth activities in the surrounding community.
“With this renovation, we hope the mosque can better serve the community's needs,” he added.
Similarly, Reverend Vylian Sipahutar of the Batak Christian Protestant Church (HKBP) in West Bangka expressed gratitude for PT Timah’s assistance during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“The assistance from PT Timah will be used for our Christmas and New Year needs. PT Timah also provided equipment for our HKBP church this year,” said Vylian.
He noted that this is not the first time they have received help from PT Timah and commended the company’s commitment to supporting religious activities in the community.
