CENTRAL BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to support the creation of public security and order in the company’s operational areas.
Most recently, PT TIMAH provided assistance for the construction of a Neighborhood Security Post (Pos Kamling) and the procurement of communication equipment in the form of Handy Talkies (HTs) for Tanjung Gunung Village, Pangkalan Baru District, Central Bangka Regency, on Friday (June 19, 2026).
Tanjung Gunung Village Head Muslim expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s attention and contribution in supporting the needs of the local community.
According to Muslim, the assistance will significantly strengthen the village’s security system, especially considering the large area of Tanjung Gunung Village and the deteriorating condition of several existing neighborhood watch posts.
“We are very grateful for the assistance provided by PT TIMAH. We hope the company continues to grow, remains close to the community, and continues to bring benefits to the surrounding area,” he said.
“This assistance will be used to construct one Neighborhood Security Post and purchase Handy Talkies as communication tools for community security personnel. It will greatly support monitoring activities and help maintain public order and safety,” he added.
Muslim explained that most of the existing security posts have suffered significant damage due to their age, with some structures having been in use for decades. The deterioration is evident in various parts of the buildings, including the roofs and floors, making them no longer suitable for security personnel on duty.
In addition, the presence of a new Neighborhood Security Post is considered increasingly important because Tanjung Gunung Village is one of the areas that requires more intensive monitoring to prevent potential disturbances to public security and order.
“With this new Neighborhood Security Post, we hope it will serve as a center for community monitoring and support the duties of our civil defense personnel in maintaining public safety. This is a positive step toward creating a safer and more orderly environment,” he concluded. (*)
