PT Timah Supports Nutritious Meal Program for Hundreds of Students in Central Bangka

CENTRAL BANGKA – PT Timah Tbk continues its initiative to provide nutritious meals for students, aligning with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision of delivering free nutritious meals to students across Indonesia.

Following its implementation in East Belitung Regency, PT Timah expanded the program to Central Bangka Regency, targeting students at SDN 8 and SDN 9 in Baskara Bakti Village, Namang District, on Monday (9/12/2024).

The program's launch in Central Bangka was attended by the Head of Elementary Education of Central Bangka's Education Office, Alamsyah, representatives from the Central Bangka Health Office, Bahtiar Effendy, the village head of Baskara Bakti, and teachers from SDN 8 and SDN 9 Namang.

Alamsyah praised the initiative, expressing hope for its sustainability:
“We hope that our children’s nutritional needs will be met, enabling them to focus better on their studies and grasp lessons more effectively. We wish for this program to continue in the future.”

He added, “This program is a testament to PT Timah’s care for the community through its CSR initiatives.”

Similarly, Baskara Bakti Village Head, Bahtiar Effendy, highlighted that 307 students from SDN 8 and SDN 9 would benefit from this program over the next five days.

SDN 9 Principal Muhammad enthusiastically welcomed the initiative, emphasizing its importance in addressing students' nutritional needs:
“This program is essential for our children. We hope it will enhance their health and improve the quality of their education.”

Muhammad expressed gratitude that their school was chosen, noting its alignment with government programs.
“We are thankful to the local government for entrusting PT Timah to execute this initiative. Hopefully, this program will positively impact children’s growth and development in the future.”

Anggi Siahaan, Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting government programs aimed at improving human resources and education quality.

“This nutritious meal program aligns with the government’s mission to enhance students’ nutritional intake, thereby contributing to the development of quality human resources to support the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045,” said Anggi. (*)
