WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk is supporting the 5th Mentok Community Sport (MCS) League 2026, held as part of the celebrations marking the 292nd anniversary of Mentok City.
The support reflects PT TIMAH’s commitment to encouraging positive sporting activities while strengthening community bonds in Mentok District.
Carrying the motto “Datang Main, Having Fun” (“Come, Play, Have Fun”), the league brings together 16 football teams from across Mentok District and runs from September 7 to 26, 2026.
Beyond supporting the event, PT TIMAH is also taking part in the competition by fielding its Processing and Refinery football team.
The company team’s participation has received a positive response from organizers, fellow participants, and local residents attending the matches. PT TIMAH’s presence also provides an opportunity to strengthen engagement and build closer ties with the community through sport.
Mentok Community Sport League Organizing Committee Chairman Aden Pratama said the MCS League is held annually to coincide with Mentok City’s anniversary celebrations, with this year marking its fifth edition.
“The Mentok Community Sport League is held every year, and this is our fifth edition. In addition to celebrating Mentok City’s anniversary, the event serves as a platform to strengthen ties among football players in Mentok,” Aden said.
According to Aden, the league’s success is made possible through the support of various stakeholders, including PT TIMAH, which has contributed to the organization of the competition.
“PT TIMAH’s support for the Mentok Community Sport League has been tremendous. In addition to providing financial support, PT TIMAH has also fielded its Processing and Refinery team in the competition. Bina Jaya Field, where the matches are held, is also an asset of PT TIMAH,” he said.
Aden expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s contribution and hoped the company would continue supporting the development of football in Mentok.
“On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to thank PT TIMAH for its moral and material support for this football competition. We hope that in the future PT TIMAH can organize its own football tournament, not only at the district level but also across West Bangka Regency,” he said. (*)
