KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to support community social and religious initiatives by contributing to the organization of the Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) at the Gemuruh Village level in West Kundur District, Karimun Regency.
The assistance provided by PT TIMAH was used to support the operational needs of the MTQ event, ensuring that the competition could be carried out smoothly.
Chairman of the Gemuruh Village MTQ Organizing Committee, Asryzal, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s contribution in supporting the successful implementation of the religious event.
"We are grateful for the support from PT TIMAH in helping organize the MTQ in Gemuruh Village. This assistance has been very helpful, especially in covering operational needs so that the entire event could run successfully," said Asryzal.
The Gemuruh Village MTQ is an annual event aimed at fostering a love for the Qur'an among the community, particularly the younger generation. This year's competition featured 32 participants competing in various categories.
From the participants, eight top performers were selected to represent Gemuruh Village at the West Kundur District MTQ before advancing to the regency-level competition.
According to Asryzal, the MTQ is not only a competition in Qur'an recitation but also serves as a platform to nurture a Qur'anic generation with strong character and a passion for learning Islamic values.
"Through this MTQ, we aim to develop a Qur'anic generation while identifying talented participants who can achieve success at higher levels of competition. We hope this event inspires children to become more enthusiastic about studying the Qur'an so they will grow with strong religious knowledge and good character," he said.
He also expressed his hope that PT TIMAH would continue supporting community activities in Gemuruh Village, particularly programs related to religious development and youth empowerment.
"We would like to thank PT TIMAH for its support. We wish PT TIMAH continued success, growth, and prosperity, and may it continue bringing benefits to the community. In our village, PT TIMAH has consistently been present in supporting various community activities, making this assistance truly meaningful to us," Asryzal concluded. (*)
