BANGKA TENGAH -- Support for education is not only provided through facilities and infrastructure, but also by creating opportunities for students to develop their achievements and potential. PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk is also contributing to this effort by supporting Gambate, an event organized by MAN Insan Cendekia (MAN IC) Bangka Tengah.
PT TIMAH’s support is expected to help students develop their creativity and hone their skills in various academic and artistic fields. The event will be held from September 21–23, 2026, at MAN IC Bangka Tengah.
Gambate Organizing Committee Chairperson Yuliyana said the event is an annual program organized by MAN IC Bangka Tengah to provide students with an opportunity to compete while showcasing their talents and abilities.
“Alhamdulillah, PT TIMAH’s support has been a great help to us. We are very grateful because PT TIMAH has supported and contributed to this event,” Yuliyana said.
This year’s Gambate features several competitions, including Science Olympiad, Social Studies Olympiad, and Got Talent. The event is open to junior high school and Islamic junior high school (SMP/MTs) students from across Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
In the Got Talent category, participants can showcase a variety of artistic talents and creative skills, including storytelling, dancing, pencak silat, singing, karate, monologues, pantomime, magic, stand-up comedy, martial arts, and painting.
According to Yuliyana, student enthusiasm for the event has been quite high. Last year, Gambate attracted nearly 200 participants. This demonstrates that students need opportunities to pursue their interests and talents while gaining valuable competitive experience.
“Enthusiasm has been quite high. This event provides a platform for students to showcase their potential and talents. Through this event, we also want to introduce MAN Insan Cendekia Bangka Tengah to junior high school and Islamic junior high school students across Bangka Belitung,” she said.
She explained that Gambate is also part of MAN IC Bangka Tengah’s efforts to continue developing positive activities for students. To support the event, the organizing committee has actively built partnerships with various parties, including companies through sponsorship support.
Yuliyana hopes that the partnership with PT TIMAH can continue and contribute to the development of education in Bangka Belitung.
“We hope that we can continue to work together, and that PT TIMAH will continue to grow while sharing and supporting educational activities,” she said.
PT TIMAH’s support for Gambate is one of the Company’s contributions to developing the quality of the younger generation and fostering a competitive and sportsmanlike character from an early age. (*)
