PT TIMAH Supports East Belitung Scout Branch at 12th National Jamboree, Bringing Regional Spirit and Culture to the National Stage

PANGKALPINANG — Support from PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has helped strengthen the efforts of the East Belitung Regency Scout Movement Branch (Kwarcab) in participating in the 12th National Scout Jamboree (Jamnas XII) 2026 at the Pramuka Camping Ground and Tourism Center in Cibubur, Jakarta.

The 12th National Jamboree, held from August 12–21, 2026, provided an opportunity for Scouts from various regions across Indonesia to strengthen their character, discipline, and independence, while also building friendships and networks among the younger generation.

Chairman of the East Belitung Scout Movement Branch, Fezzi Uktolseja, said the East Belitung contingent received support from various parties to participate in the national event. One of the most significant sources of support came from PT TIMAH.

“Thankfully, we received assistance from PT TIMAH. Most of the funding was self-financed, and thankfully PT TIMAH also provided support. While in Jakarta, we stayed at PT TIMAH’s staff housing,” Fezzi said.

The East Belitung contingent consisted of 28 people, including Scouts, group leaders, teachers, and administrators. Of these, 18 were selected Scouts representing the East Belitung Scout Movement.

In addition to accommodation, transportation support was also important for the contingent, considering the considerable distance between East Belitung and the Jamnas venue.

“PT TIMAH supported us with accommodation and transportation, and this was a tremendous help,” he said.

Fezzi expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s support, which he said greatly assisted the East Belitung contingent’s departure and ensured the smooth running of their participation in Jamnas XII.

According to him, amid the East Belitung regional government’s budget limitations, support from businesses and various stakeholders plays an important role in supporting youth development activities.

“Amid all these limitations, PT TIMAH’s assistance has been truly felt and means a great deal to us. This is also part of our responsibility as administrators to ensure that the children can participate properly in this national event,” he said.

Fezzi said that participating in Jamnas XII was more than simply an opportunity for the Scouts to take part in a national-scale scouting event. More importantly, it served as a learning environment for young people to develop their character and discipline.

He explained that the Scouts play an important role in shaping young people to become independent, responsible, disciplined, and capable of adapting to various circumstances.

“These 18 children were selected to represent all of East Belitung. Scouting develops character and discipline. By participating in the jamboree, their discipline becomes even stronger because they are challenged to grow amid various limitations,” he explained.

The participation of the East Belitung contingent in Jamnas XII also provided an opportunity to showcase the region’s potential to participants from across Indonesia.

During the event, the East Belitung contingent brought various local products and traditional arts. They also introduced East Belitung’s identity and cultural richness to Jamnas participants, whose numbers reached tens of thousands.

“We showcased East Belitung’s potential. The participants also introduced East Belitung to other participants, so this became an opportunity for the children to promote their region,” Fezzi said.

He believes the experience will leave a lasting impression on the participants. They not only learned about scouting but also had the opportunity to meet and interact with peers from different parts of Indonesia.

These encounters gave them an opportunity to build networks, exchange experiences, learn about Indonesia’s diversity, and develop confidence as members of the nation’s younger generation. (*)
