PT TIMAH Supports Construction of Student Dormitory at Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Mansyur Islamic Boarding School in Bangka Regency

BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the quality of human resources through various Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs in the education sector.

On this occasion, PT TIMAH provided financial assistance for the construction of a student dormitory at the Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Mansyur Islamic Boarding School, located in Balunijuk Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency, on Thursday (April 23, 2026).

The Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Mansyur Islamic Boarding School was established in 2011 and has produced hundreds of hafidz and hafidzah in the Bangka Belitung region.

Chairman of the Al-Mansyur Foundation, Ali Mutakin, stated that the institution continues to develop by expanding its educational levels.

“We started in 2011 with a small Qur’anic learning center (TPA), then added early childhood education (PAUD), followed by elementary school, and now we have a junior high school,” he said.

According to Ali, this is not the first time they have received assistance from PT TIMAH. It reflects the company’s consistent commitment to supporting education in its operational areas.

“This is not the first time we have received assistance from PT TIMAH. We previously received similar support in 2017 when building SDIT Al-Mansyur,” he added.

PT TIMAH continues to implement various initiatives to improve the quality of human resources in mining communities. This is reflected in its ongoing TJSL programs in the education sector, including scholarship programs, internships, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment through training and seminars.

“In my view, the high school dropout rate in Bangka Belitung is not due to a lack of interest among students, but rather due to limited access to education. I have found that many people drop out not because they are unwilling to learn, but because they cannot afford it. We ourselves consistently provide scholarships to 20 hafidz and hafidzah each year,” he explained.

Ali hopes that more corporate support will be available in the future so that they can accelerate the development of the Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Mansyur Islamic Boarding School.

“The assistance from PT TIMAH is very meaningful to us,” he concluded. (*)
