PANGKALPINANG – To drive the economic growth of local communities, PT Timah continues to play an active role in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the company's operational areas.
Through various initiatives, PT Timah aims to help MSMEs improve their competitiveness and contribute to creating a more inclusive economy.
PT Timah, through its Micro and Small Business Funding (PUMK) program, encourages MSMEs to grow and become self-reliant. With the provision of capital assistance, it is hoped that MSMEs can increase productivity, thereby creating more job opportunities.
In addition to providing capital support, PT Timah has also organized a series of training programs in recent months designed to strengthen the capacity of MSME actors.
It is expected that, through enhanced competencies, MSMEs will be better equipped to face challenges in the digital economy era and be able to expand their markets to both national and international levels.
PT Timah's Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the MSME development program is part of the company's ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
"By providing access to training and capital support, MSMEs can grow into a key pillar of national economic development," he said.
Anggi added that PT Timah is also actively promoting MSME products through local and national exhibitions.
"We hope that more MSMEs will advance to the next level, able to compete globally and create a significant economic impact," he said.
One of PT Timah's MSME partners, Kurnia Ningsih, with the product brand KN. Way Tea, mentioned that she has been a PT Timah-supported partner for several years to grow her business.
"The PUMK program of PT Timah is very helpful for us business owners, as we are also facilitated to market our products through MSME bazaars like this, which serves as a promotional platform," she said. (*)
