PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen the quality of its human resources through various structured and sustainable competency development programs.
This initiative is aimed at developing employees who not only excel in technical expertise but also possess strong leadership capabilities that can drive the Company’s growth in the future.
PT TIMAH’s competency development programs are designed based on the Company’s Learning Architecture and aligned with its Long-Term Corporate Plan (RJPP) as well as its Employee Learning Implementation Policy, which supports human resource development across PT TIMAH and its subsidiaries.
PT TIMAH Human Resources Director Ratih Mayasari explained that human resource development remains one of the Company’s strategic priorities. According to her, PT TIMAH has many employees with strong technical competencies, but those capabilities must be supported by effective leadership to maximize their contribution to the Company.
“When we talk about the tin industry in Indonesia, many of the country’s top experts and competencies are found within PT TIMAH. However, strong competencies must be accompanied by strong leadership. Without effective leadership, the potential we possess cannot be developed optimally,” she said.
For this reason, PT TIMAH has made leadership competency development one of the key priorities in its employee learning programs. By strengthening leadership capabilities, the Company aims to cultivate more talents who can collaborate effectively, transfer knowledge, and support the sustainable implementation of corporate strategies.
Overall, PT TIMAH’s employee competency development framework covers five key areas: leadership competency, core competency, critical competency, technical competency, and certification competency.
To support effective learning, the Company utilizes a variety of development methods, including classroom training, workshops, webinars, certification programs, e-learning, and on-the-job training.
Throughout 2025, a total of 3,848 employees participated in various training programs organized by the Company. The total training hours delivered reached 149,050 hours, with an average of 39 training hours per employee.
“We have begun building a knowledge-sharing system that leverages the experience of our employees to help develop future leaders. The TELP (TINS Leadership Executive Program) is one of the major initiatives we launched, and its first series began in early 2026. Going forward, additional series will be introduced to target various leadership levels,” Ratih explained.
In addition to leadership development, PT TIMAH is also strengthening career path development for employees who possess competencies that are critical to the Company’s business. This initiative covers various strategic fields, including geology, mining, mineral processing, and the development of associated minerals.
According to Ratih, the Company is committed to creating a work environment that enables employees to continuously develop according to their areas of expertise.
“We want to provide a supportive environment where employees can continue to develop their core competencies. In doing so, PT TIMAH will build a workforce that is strong in both leadership and technical capabilities,” she said.
In addition to focusing on active employees, PT TIMAH also provides preparation programs for employees approaching retirement. In 2025, the Company organized retirement preparation training for 47 employees who were entering retirement or participating in a voluntary retirement program. (*)
