WEST JAVA – To enhance good corporate governance in its business processes, PT Timah has established a collaboration with the West Java High Prosecutor's Office regarding legal matters in the Civil and Administrative Law sectors.
This partnership agreement was signed by PT Timah's President Director Ahmad Dani Virsal and West Java Chief Prosecutor Katarina Endang Sarwestri, witnessed by PT Timah’s HR Director Hendra Kusuma Wardana and Deputy Chief Prosecutor of West Java, Riyono. The signing occurred at The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung on October 23-24, 2024.
Prosecutors from Bekasi, Depok, and Bandung also attended the event.
In addition to the agreement on legal issues in Civil and Administrative Law, PT Timah held a workshop on Asset Management Governance. Speakers included legal practitioner Riyono, S.H., M.Hum. and academic Prof. Dr. H. Isis Ikhwansyah, S.H., M.H., CN. Various PT Timah division heads, PT TKPP directors, and West Java High Prosecutor officials participated.
The purpose of the collaboration is to improve the effectiveness of legal handling and resolution in Civil and Administrative Law cases, both in and outside of court, faced by PT Timah.
The scope of the collaboration includes legal assistance, legal opinions, legal actions, capacity-building through joint training, socialization, internships, resource provision, and other partnerships to mitigate legal risks, including the prevention of corruption.
West Java Chief Prosecutor Katarina Endang Sarwestri expressed appreciation for PT Timah's trust in the Prosecutor’s Office to assist in handling legal matters in Civil and Administrative Law.
"PT Timah Tbk is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) involved in the mining of various minerals and operates in industries related to trading, transportation, and services. During its operations, it faces legal risks," she said.
"The Prosecutor's Office, as a state institution, plays a key role in ensuring that SOEs can fulfill their functions effectively while minimizing potential legal issues."
Through this partnership, PT Timah can make better use of the expertise, role, and authority of state attorneys in Civil and Administrative Law, ensuring their activities comply with legal frameworks and promoting efficient and effective law enforcement.
PT Timah President Director Ahmad Dani Virsal hopes that the partnership with the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office, including the prosecutor's offices in Bekasi, Depok, and Bandung, will run smoothly.
“We hope the Prosecutor’s Office will provide legal assistance to PT Timah Tbk and its subsidiaries, especially in legal opinions and support for Civil and Administrative Law matters in our operations in West Java, including Bekasi, Depok, and Bandung,” said Dani.
Looking forward, Dani hopes that the collaboration established under this agreement will help support PT Timah Tbk's business activities, as a member of the MIND ID Group, a State-Owned Enterprise in the tin mining industry.
