KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk’s commitment to continuously improve the quality of public health has once again been realized through the inauguration of the revitalized Timah Kundur Clinic, held in conjunction with the commemoration of Pancasila Day, Monday (June 1, 2026).
The presence of this healthcare facility is expected to expand access to medical services for both employees and the community on Kundur Island and its surrounding areas. This marks a concrete step by PT TIMAH in supporting public healthcare services.
PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Director of Human Resources, Ratih Mayasari, directly inaugurated the revitalized Timah Kundur Clinic, which was also attended by various stakeholders. She expressed her appreciation to all parties who contributed to the development and inauguration of the healthcare facility.
Ratih stated that the existence of the Timah Kundur Clinic is part of the company’s commitment to improving community welfare and quality of life by providing more accessible healthcare services.
“We hope this Kundur Clinic can help all of our employees and the people of Kundur to become healthier and bring benefits and blessings to everyone,” she said.
According to Ratih, the presence of this clinic is not the final step, but rather the beginning of the company’s ongoing commitment to continuously improve healthcare facilities in its operational areas.
She noted that the geographical challenges of Kundur Island as an archipelagic region make the need for healthcare facilities even more important.
“Considering that Kundur is not located close to urban centers, the clinic must be able to meet all the healthcare needs required by the community in the Kundur area,” she said.
Ratih also hopes that the presence of the Timah Kundur Clinic will strengthen synergy with various stakeholders, including in providing supporting healthcare services.
“We hope that with this clinic, we can enhance cooperation with relevant parties such as the health office, for example in providing sea ambulances so that Kundur can become a more complete region in terms of healthcare facilities,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Kundur Barat Subdistrict, Yusufian, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s contribution, which he believes provides a real solution to the healthcare needs of communities in the archipelagic region.
“We highly appreciate the presence of this clinic. Hopefully, it can help the community, not only PT TIMAH employees,” he said.
According to him, the geographical conditions of the archipelago have long been a challenge for communities in accessing healthcare services.
“We are in an island region, so people on Kundur Island and its surrounding areas can come here for treatment”
Similarly, the Head of Gemuruh Village, Ari Supriyadi Nur Faizal, stated that the healthcare facilities at the Timah Kundur Clinic are very good and well-maintained, in line with the services that will be provided to the community.
“I was deeply moved as I walked through each room earlier. This is truly what the community, especially on Kundur Island, has been hoping for,” he said.
In archipelagic areas, he added, healthcare services have indeed been a challenge because people have to travel long distances from their villages. In some cases, they even have to cross over to Karimun to receive treatment.
“So the presence of the Timah Clinic today truly answers all the concerns and needs of the community. We hope this will be complemented with specialist doctors who can stay on Kundur Island, and that this will continue for years to come,” he said.
“This will become one of the most beautiful and lasting memories from PT TIMAH for the community, especially for the people of Kundur Island,” he concluded.
