KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk once again demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility toward the community. Through its Ramadan Safari program, the company provided assistance to dozens of orphans during an event held at Wisma Serba Guna Kundur, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency, on Monday (March 9, 2026).
During the event, the aid recipients sat cross-legged in an orderly manner while following the series of activities. Bright and hopeful expressions could be seen on the children’s faces, although some appeared shy when the camera pointed toward them.
For these children, the assistance they received was not merely material support, but also a form of care and compassion from various parties.
One of the recipients, Tirta (11), a fifth-grade elementary school student from Gemuruh Village, said he was very happy to receive the assistance. He plans to use the support for worship needs and to buy items ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
“I’m very happy to receive this assistance. I will use it for prayer and reciting the Quran, and the rest I want to use to buy clothes for Eid,” he said with a shy smile.
The distribution of assistance to orphans is part of PT TIMAH’s commitment to bringing joy and encouraging them so they can also feel the happiness of welcoming the day of victory.
Tirta also said that he had previously received assistance from PT TIMAH in 2024. He expressed his hope that the company will continue to grow and succeed.
“I also received assistance from PT TIMAH before. Thank you very much, I hope PT TIMAH’s business runs smoothly and continues to prosper,” he said.
A similar sentiment was expressed by Syakira Nur Aini (6), a kindergarten student at TK Permata Sari in Gemuruh Village, who attended the event accompanied by her grandmother, Aini. The grandmother admitted she was moved and grateful that her granddaughter received assistance from PT TIMAH.
“I feel touched and happy because my granddaughter received this assistance. Alhamdulillah, it can be used to buy shoes and clothes for Eid,” she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
She hopes PT TIMAH will continue to grow and remain attentive to communities in need around the company’s operational areas.
“Thank you to PT TIMAH for caring about us residents who are less fortunate. Hopefully PT TIMAH continues to progress and keeps bringing goodness to the community,” she said. (*)
