SOUTH BANGKA -- The Working Youth Youth Community (Papaya) in Rias Village, South Bangka Regency can finally have a proper and comfortable workshop to process used goods into useful and economically valuable products after receiving a touch from PT Timah.
The Papaya Community's dream of having and developing a workshop can be realized with the help of PT Timah's CSR program. Although slowly but surely, this workshop can be the beginning for them to develop further.
According to the Chairman of the Papaya Community, Iwan said that they have been processing used goods recycled into useful and economically valuable products for many years.
Their consistency and commitment in processing used goods is of concern to PT Timah by supporting the development of the Papaya community.
PT Timah's program is carried out on an ongoing basis, starting with creating a workshop to make it easier for community members to channel their creativity in processing used goods.
"With this new workshop, the impact is clearly felt, we have more freedom in our work and of course, it makes us more comfortable," said Iwan.
Not only that, Iwan said that community members are also increasingly enthusiastic about processing used goods into various interesting products. They started promoting products and introducing the use of used goods.
With the help of workshops from PT Timah, according to Iwan, it becomes an attraction for new members to channel their creativity. There are even several new people who have joined. This is also in line with their dream of developing this community so that it becomes a forum for young people in Rias Village.
“Friends have been here almost every night since there was a new workshop. This also makes them more enthusiastic. "Previously our workshop was cramped and the lights were a bit dim, but now it's nice to gather together," he said.
Currently, he said they can use the workshop optimally. He hopes that the members of the MIND ID mining holding can continue to develop them.
"In the meantime, we are still working on work as usual, apart from that we are also working on work for the 17th anniversary, such as props for the carnival, as well as trophies for competition trophies," he said.
For him, having a workshop and joint business, with different human resource capabilities is certainly not easy. However, the assistance from PT Timah will certainly really help them just optimize what they already have.
"Thank you PT Timah for your assistance, hopefully in the future PT Timah can continue to develop us, help us develop existing human resources, by providing training, and this collaboration can continue and be sustainable," he said. (*)
