BANGKA -- PT Timah deployed a firefighting team in Wilasi North Bangka to help deal with a fire that broke out in the waiting room for ship passengers at Tanjung Gudang Belinyu port, Bangka Regency, Wednesday (4/9/2024) afternoon.
PT Timah's firefighting team and PDAM water trucks were also deployed to extinguish the fire. The police team from the Belinyu Police took part in dealing with the incident.
Head of Environment 3, Mantung Subdistrict, Sugandi, appreciated PT Timah's quick response in handling the fire that occurred.
Sugandi said that this was not the only time the PT Timah Fire Department team had helped deal with fires in their area.
"When we received reports from residents, we immediately contacted the PT Timah fire team. The response was very fast and they moved quickly to the location," he said.
According to him, the PT Timah Damkar team is the only firefighting vehicle they have in their area. So its presence is very reliable for handling fires.
"The PT Timah Fire and Rescue Team works quickly, previously they often helped handle fires in residents' houses in our sub-district. If there is a fire, they are very reliable," he said.
In the future, he hopes that PT Timah can add one more fire fleet unit so that it can handle fires more quickly.
"Hopefully later the firefighting fleet can be increased so that it can move more quickly," he hoped.
