PT TIMAH Provides Assistance for Baiturrahman Mosque in West Bangka, Supporting Religious Activities

WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to support the development of houses of worship across its operational areas as part of its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program.

Assistance for houses of worship is one of PT TIMAH's ongoing community programs in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Province, and the Riau Islands Province. The support covers a wide range of needs, from the construction and renovation of houses of worship to the improvement of facilities and infrastructure.

Most recently, PT TIMAH provided assistance to support the construction of Baiturrahman Mosque in Air Kuang Village, Jebus District, West Bangka Regency.

The Treasurer of Baiturrahman Mosque, Jumadi, said that this was not the first time the mosque management had received support from PT TIMAH. This latest assistance was used to purchase air conditioning units to improve the comfort of worshippers.

"We used PT TIMAH's assistance to purchase three air conditioning units, which will be installed in the mosque to make worship more comfortable for our congregation," he said.

According to Jumadi, the construction of Baiturrahman Mosque has also received strong support from the people of Air Kuang Village. A spirit of mutual cooperation has been evident since the beginning of the project, with residents voluntarily contributing both labor and building materials.

"The community here has been very enthusiastic about building this new mosque. During the foundation pouring, residents worked together voluntarily, while the women prepared meals for the workers. That spirit of togetherness continues to this day," he said.

He explained that the construction of Baiturrahman Mosque began in August 2023. Following a phased construction process, the mosque became operational in 2025 and has since been used for various religious activities, including Tarawih prayers, Eid al-Fitr prayers, and daily congregational worship.

Jumadi expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH's continued commitment to supporting the development of religious facilities within local communities. According to him, the assistance has provided tangible benefits by helping improve the mosque's facilities for its congregation.

"My message to PT TIMAH is to never stop doing good. We hope PT TIMAH continues to grow stronger, achieves even greater success, and remains committed to creating positive impacts for the community," he concluded. (*)
