PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to improving community welfare through its Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), implemented across the company’s operational areas.
In 2026, PT TIMAH’s PPM programs will target various sectors, including education, economy, social welfare, food security, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, health, and the environment.
In the education sector, PT TIMAH will continue its flagship programs such as the Pemali Boarding School, improving teacher literacy, and providing higher education scholarships for outstanding students. The Cermat movement and support for persons with disabilities are also part of efforts to enhance the quality of human resources.
In the economic sector, the company delivers various empowerment programs based on local potential in the Provinces of Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau, and Riau Islands through the development of aquaculture, agriculture, and livestock initiatives.
Additionally, strengthening food security remains a priority through the Food Security Program, including the development of agricultural products and the utilization of post-mining land for freshwater fish farming in former mining pits.
In regional development, PT TIMAH continues its Assisted Village Program to promote village independence while enhancing community capacity in managing local economic potential.
Meanwhile, in the environmental sector, the company will implement various sustainable programs such as mangrove planting, the “A Thousand Trees for the Nation” movement, the construction of fish shelters, squid attractors, and coral gardens as efforts to preserve coastal and marine ecosystems.
The company also demonstrates its commitment to social and cultural aspects through cultural preservation initiatives and social protection programs for communities, including participation in the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program.
Furthermore, PT TIMAH remains consistent in improving public health quality through the Kemunting Program, which focuses on reducing stunting rates in operational areas.
