PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Supports Preservation of Local Traditions, Continues Support for the Ruwah Traditional Festival and Ketupat War

BANGKA BARAT -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk once again demonstrated its commitment to preserving local customs and culture within its operational areas. Most recently, the company provided support for the Ruwah Traditional Festival and the Ketupat War tradition held in Tempilang District, Bangka Barat Regency.

The cultural preservation assistance was handed over by PT TIMAH"s CSR team to the Festival Chairperson, Sahanan Ali, and was witnessed by the Vice Regent of Bangka Barat, Yus Derahman, on Friday (February 20, 2026).

Sahanan Ali stated that the support from PT TIMAH greatly helped the organizing committee cover various event expenses that had already been incurred.

“The assistance from PT TIMAH will be used to help pay for activities that have already been carried out, such as music performances, traditional ceremonies, and sports activities including volleyball and soccer,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH’s consistent support in preserving traditional cultural activities in Tempilang.

“We would like to thank PT TIMAH for the support provided. The CSR assistance in 2026 has been very helpful,” he added.

Vice Regent Yus Derahman also expressed gratitude for PT TIMAH's contribution to the implementation of the Ruwah Festival and the Ketupat War tradition in Tempilang.

“Alhamdulillah, PT TIMAH has once again supported the Ruwah Traditional Festival and the Ketupat War tradition in Tempilang. We are grateful and hope PT TIMAH continues to prosper and that the Tempilang community remains safe,” he said.

According to him, PT TIMAH's contribution plays a significant role in sustaining the community’s traditional celebrations.

“Our hope is that PT TIMAH will continue providing support in the future, because the company’s contribution is very meaningful for organizing the Ketupat War festival. Without such support, an event of this scale might not run properly,” he explained.

Through its support for the preservation of traditional customs, PT TIMAH reaffirms its commitment to growing together with the community, not only economically but also in safeguarding local cultural values and traditions.
