PT TIMAH Organizes Community Beach Clean-Up at Tambak Udang Beach to Preserve Coastal Ecosystems

BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues its series of activities commemorating World Environment Day 2026. Through its North Bangka Area Division, the company organized a community beach clean-up at the Tambak Udang Beach area in Rambak Village, Bangka Regency, on Friday (June 19, 2026).

The activity is part of PT TIMAH’s ongoing efforts to reduce waste and raise public awareness about the importance of protecting coastal ecosystems.

The beach clean-up was carried out in collaboration with various stakeholders and attended by Bangka Regent Fery Insani, Head of the Bangka Regency Environmental Agency Boy Yandra, representatives from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), sub-district and village officials, members of the fishing community, and PT TIMAH employees.

In his opening remarks, Bangka Regent Fery Insani expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s active role in supporting environmental conservation through various initiatives, including the beach clean-up campaign.

According to him, the activity reflects the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability while helping maintain the cleanliness of coastal areas.

“In my opinion, PT TIMAH has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental management. I believe activities like this encourage people to work together in keeping the environment clean,” Fery said.

He also emphasized that commemorating World Environment Day would have little meaning without real action from the community to maintain environmental cleanliness. Fery encouraged the public to take greater responsibility for the waste they generate while visiting coastal tourism areas.

Similarly, Head of the Bangka Regency Environmental Agency Boy Yandra stated that PT TIMAH remains committed to maintaining environmental cleanliness by involving the Bangka Regency Government and various community groups. He noted that PT TIMAH had previously collaborated with the local government on a clean-up activity at Kolong AKHLAK.

“So far, PT TIMAH has consistently demonstrated its commitment to environmental conservation through various initiatives,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jelitik Village Head Sri Juniarti noted that this collaborative activity serves as an educational opportunity for the community on how to care for and maintain the cleanliness of coastal environments. She also expressed hope that such activities would further increase public awareness of environmental management.

“My message is simple: let us all work together to keep our environment clean. Cleanliness is part of our values, and a clean environment helps us live healthier lives,” Sri said. (*)
