WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH Tbk participated in the Development Expo, held as part of the series of events celebrating the 23rd anniversary of West Bangka Regency and the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
PT TIMAH’s booth at the AJPC Field in Simpang Teritip District, West Bangka Regency, received an enthusiastic response from the community. Since the exhibition opened on Wednesday (August 19, 2026), hundreds of residents have taken turns visiting the booth to learn more about the tin industry and participate in various activities prepared by the company.
The Development Expo was held from August 19–23, 2026. In addition to providing information about the company, PT TIMAH, through its Processing and Refinery Division, also educated the public about the processing and smelting of tin ore into tin metal.
The information was presented through visual displays on screens, along with direct explanations from booth staff. Visitors were able to see an overview of the stages involved in processing tin ore and gain a better understanding of the processes carried out before producing tin metal.
Public enthusiasm grew even more when PT TIMAH held a door prize giveaway on Saturday (August 22, 2026). Dozens of prizes were prepared for visitors who had previously received coupons after visiting the company’s booth.
The atmosphere at the booth became even more lively as staff began announcing the winning coupon numbers. Visitors waited excitedly, hoping that the coupon number they held would be among those called.
One of the lucky visitors was Suciana (38), a resident of Pangek Village, Simpang Teritip District. Her coupon number was selected as a winner, and she took home an electric fan.
“I’m very happy. We only have a small fan at home. Thankfully, I got a bigger one. I can bring a nice gift home,” she said with a smile.
Wila Susmira also shared in the excitement. Both of the coupons she brought won prizes, consisting of a wall clock and household items.
“Thankfully, I got a cooking pot, and my child got a wall clock. Both coupon numbers won prizes,” she said.
Wila appreciated PT TIMAH’s presence and its efforts to share with the community during the celebrations of West Bangka’s anniversary and Indonesia’s Independence Day.
“Thank you, PT TIMAH. I hope you continue to grow and thrive, care even more about the community, and continue sharing,” she said.
PT TIMAH’s support for the series of events celebrating the 23rd anniversary of West Bangka also received appreciation from the West Bangka Regency Government.
Simpang Teritip District Head Kerynna Meithesya expressed her appreciation to all parties who participated in making the event, which was centered in Simpang Teritip District, a success.
“As the host of this event, we would like to thank the committee, participants, and community members who took part in supporting the 23rd anniversary celebration of West Bangka in Simpang Teritip District,” she said.
Meanwhile, Fakhriansah, Chairman of the Committee for the 23rd Anniversary Celebration of West Bangka, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s contribution to the series of events.
According to him, PT TIMAH’s support was demonstrated not only through its participation in the Development Expo but also through its support for the organization of the various events celebrating West Bangka’s 23rd anniversary.
