BANGKA TENGAH – PT Timah’s Nutritious Meal Program for students continues. Today, the program was conducted at several schools in Bangka Tengah Regency, on Wednesday (11/10/2024).
PT Timah carried out the nutritious meal program simultaneously at SDN 8 Namang, SDN 9 Namang, SDN 5 Pangkalan Baru, SDN 11 Pangkalan Baru, and SDN 10 Pangkalan Baru.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions Development, and Transmigration, Ir. H. Ahmad Riza Patria, along with regional government officials (Forkopimda) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
Previously, this member of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding had implemented the nutritious meal program for students in East Belitung Regency and Bangka Regency.
Students, school principals, and teachers at SDN 10 Pangkalan Baru enthusiastically welcomed the nutritious meal program, carried out in collaboration between PT Timah Tbk and the Bangka Tengah Regency Government.
The principal of SDN 10 Pangkalan Baru, Kahono, highlighted the program’s significance in fostering healthy lifestyle habits among growing children.
“This nutritious meal program greatly supports healthy lifestyle habits, particularly by ensuring balanced nutrition in meals. Nutritious food boosts children’s immunity and can potentially enhance their IQ,” he stated.
Esi Irmawati, a teacher at SDN 10 Pangkalan Baru, expressed how excited the students were about the program.
“When they learned about the program, they responded positively, knowing they would receive nutritious and balanced meals, including vegetables, proteins, and fruits,” she said.
Esi also noted that the program brought joy to the children, as they could enjoy their meals together.
The benefits of the nutritious meal program were not only felt by students and school staff but also by parents of SDN 10 Pangkalan Baru students.
One parent, Novi, shared her enthusiasm about the program’s presence in Bangka Tengah Regency.
“Alhamdulillah, as parents, we are thrilled with this free nutritious meal program from PT Timah. The children are also excited to wake up early, knowing they will have nutritious meals at school,” she said.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah, mentioned that the program aligns with government initiatives to improve students' nutrition, thereby enhancing the quality of human resources in support of Indonesia’s 2045 Vision.
“This nutritious meal program for students has been implemented in several regencies, such as East Belitung, Bangka Tengah, and Bangka. We plan to continue extending it to other regions. We hope this program can support the government’s efforts to provide nutritious meals for students and improve human resource quality,” he explained. (*).
