WEST BANGKA – In commemoration of the National OHS (K3) Month, PT Timah Tbk held the 2022 OHS (K3) Grand Rally which was held in the Metallurgical Unit Area, Muntok, West Bangka, Wednesday (9/2/2022).
The rally, which was led by the Director of Operations and Production of PT Timah Tbk, Alwin Albar, which was attended by all employees of PT Timah Tbk and stakeholders, carried the theme 'Implementation of K3 Culture in every business activity to support the protection of workers in the Digitalization Era'.
On this occasion, the Director of Operations and Production of PT Timah Tbk also read the remarks of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Ida Fauziah who emphasized the importance of implementing K3 to support labor protection. In this Digitalization Era, innovation is needed to balance the dynamics of existing changes so as not to have an impact on accidents or occupational diseases.
On this occasion, Alwin Albar also said that PT Timah Tbk in 2022 is targeting to maintain zero fatality and increase the target of zero serious injuries. As is known, PT Timah Tbk in 2021 managed to record zero fatalities.
"This year, PT Timah has a target to maintain Zero Fatality and with the addition of Zero serious injuries for K3," he said.
He believes this can be realized with the cooperation of all parties, both tin people and PT Timah Tbk partners.
He said, PT Timah Tbk is currently focusing on transforming its OHS (K3) culture or what is known as the 'Mucak K3 Culture'. Through this program, PT Timah Tbk continues to improve the implementation of K3 throughout the company's business processes.
"This is done systematically, starting from the highest management to employees at the officer level who are required to follow the K3 culture and are required to report data on work safety," said Alwin.
In the momentum of the K3 Grand Rally, an Emergency Response Simulation was also carried out which described the occurrence of accidents and fires that occurred in construction work.
In addition, PT Timah Tbk also provided life jacket assistance for two groups of fishermen in West Bangka. This assistance is expected to improve the safety of fishermen when looking for sustenance at sea.
PT Timah Tbk also presented awards for employees who are dedicated in the field of OHS (K3), in addition to employees, awards are also given to operational units that implement the best SMKP and adhere to the OHS culture.
A series of K3 activities at PT Timah Tbk have been carried out since last January, including blood donation activities, mining safety seminars, quick response action competitions, and others.*
