SOUTH BANGKA -- The spirit of sharing and caring for others was once again demonstrated through PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Month. Through blood donation drives held across its operational areas, PT TIMAH aims to help increase blood supplies for those in need.
Following successful blood donation events in Bangka Regency and Central Bangka Regency, PT TIMAH continued the program in South Bangka Regency, collecting 41 bags of blood on Thursday (30/7/2026).
The blood donation drive was part of the Community Service Month series organized to celebrate PT TIMAH’s 50th anniversary under the theme “Tin for the People,” which is being carried out across several of the Company’s operational areas.
One of the donors, David (37), said that his participation was motivated not only by the desire to help others but also by the health benefits he personally experiences from donating blood.
“By donating blood, I feel healthier and more refreshed,” David said.
He also encouraged the public not to hesitate to participate in blood donation activities. According to him, in addition to helping others, donating blood also provides health benefits.
“To the public, don’t be afraid to donate blood because it’s very important. Besides helping others, it also helps improve blood circulation,” he said.
Toboali Village Head Nadi Martika expressed his appreciation to the community members who participated in the event. According to him, every drop of blood donated can become a lifeline for those in need.
“I would like to express my appreciation to the community members who have donated their blood to help fellow residents who are in need,” he said.
Nadi hopes that the blood donation drive organized by PT TIMAH will help increase the blood supply at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in South Bangka. He noted that maintaining an adequate blood supply is essential for healthcare services.
“As we know, PMI’s blood supply is limited. Hopefully, this activity will help ease PMI’s burden, and the collected blood can be put to good use for the community,” he said.
Appreciation was also expressed by South Bangka Deputy Regent and Chairperson of the South Bangka PMI, Debby Vita Dewi. She stated that the demand for blood in South Bangka Regency is quite high, making PT TIMAH’s blood donation initiative both timely and beneficial for the community.
“As the Chairperson of PMI South Bangka, I know that the demand for blood in South Bangka Regency is very high. Therefore, PT TIMAH’s decision to organize this activity is highly appropriate,” Debby said.
She also commended the participation of PT TIMAH employees in the event. According to her, their involvement demonstrates that the Company’s commitment to caring for the community is reflected not only through its programs but also through direct humanitarian action.
“I truly admire the fact that the employees are not only dedicated to their work but also have a strong sense of humanity by donating their blood to help the people of South Bangka. It is truly remarkable,” she said.
Debby expressed hope that this spirit of sharing and compassion will continue to grow. As PT TIMAH celebrates its 50th anniversary, she also wished the Company continued success and hoped it would keep delivering meaningful benefits to the people of South Bangka.
