PT TIMAH Helps Provide Seven Livable Homes for Communities in Its Operational Areas

PANGKALPINANG -- Having a safe and comfortable home is a source of happiness for every family. Through its home renovation assistance program, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk is helping provide decent housing for communities across several of its operational areas.

During the first half of 2026, PT TIMAH supported the renovation of seven homes for families in need. The assistance targeted residents whose homes had sustained significant damage and who faced financial difficulties in carrying out repairs on their own.

The livable housing assistance initiative is part of PT TIMAH’s ongoing Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program. In 2025, the company also helped provide 11 livable homes for community members.

One of the beneficiaries is Irwan (56), a resident of Gemuruh Village, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency. Due to the severe damage to his home, he had been forced to stay at his child's house.

“For almost two years, this house was uninhabitable. The roof had completely collapsed, not just leaked. Now we can finally live in our own home again. It feels so much more comfortable and peaceful,” he said.

Irwan explained that he had submitted a request for home renovation assistance approximately two years earlier. As a fisherman with an unpredictable income, he struggled to afford the repairs himself.

“I never imagined this house would be renovated. We submitted our request about two years ago, and it was finally approved and the house was repaired. It feels like a dream to see our home in such good condition now,” he said.

The home renovation assistance has also benefited residents of Belitung Regency. In Parit Subdistrict, Tanjungpandan District, the company supported the renovation of homes belonging to Abu Samah (67) and Maryati.

Abu Samah lives with his child in a house that had deteriorated significantly. The rear section of the house was severely damaged, making it uncomfortable and unsuitable for daily living.

“I am very happy, especially because the house, particularly the back section, was badly damaged. Thank you for the assistance. I hope PT TIMAH will continue helping communities like ours in the future,” Abu Samah said.

Meanwhile, Maryati's home had suffered extensive roof damage. Whenever it rained, water frequently leaked into the house, flooding the rooms.

“Thank God, I am extremely happy and never expected to receive assistance to renovate my home. Thank you, PT TIMAH, for your support. I hope the company continues to grow and prosper while helping more communities in the future,” she said. (*)
