KARIMUN -- PT Timah Tbk Kundur Unit handed over archery sports equipment assistance to the Management of the Tahfiz Quran An-Nur Islamic Boarding School located in Sungai Ungar Village, Kundur District, Karimun Regency, Monday (6/03/2024).
The caretaker of the Tahfiz Quran An Islamic Boarding School - Nur Ustaz Khairul Umam appreciates the assistance from PT Timah Tbk.
"On behalf of the Management and students of Tahfiz Quran An-Nur, I would like to thank PT Timah for their help and support to us," he said.
Khairul Umam further explained that the archery sports equipment would be used by the Santri and female students, totaling around 50 people.
With this assistance, he said, students who have a hobby or talent in archery can channel and hone their archery skills.
"Currently, archery has become known to the people on Kundur Island and hopefully this sport can develop well in society. Because archery is one of the traditions that was passed down by the Prophet Muhammad, apart from swimming and horse riding," he said.
According to him, they were very happy to receive this archery equipment. In addition, it is hoped that it will bring out archery athlete seeds.
"We are happy, we hope that with the help of this archery equipment, seeds of archery athletes will emerge from the An-Nur Islamic Boarding School," he said.
"In the future, we will try to coordinate with PT Timah's archery management so that they can teach their archery skills to students and female students. It is hoped that archery will continue to develop on Kundur Island," he said.
