WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk continues to encourage the community to maintain their health through group exercise activities. One such effort was a healthy exercise session held with residents around the production area, specifically in Tanjung Village, Teluk Rubiah neighborhood, Mentok, on Friday (August 7, 2025).
The atmosphere was full of energy from the morning. Residents of all ages, from children to the elderly, joined the session led by a professional instructor. Beyond promoting physical health, the event also served as a way to strengthen ties between PT Timah employees and the surrounding community.
Diana (30), a resident of Tanjung Pakdan, enthusiastically followed every movement while carrying her two-year-old son, Darma.
“I’m not tired; I’m already used to carrying my child. Whenever there’s an exercise event like this, he always comes along because my husband is at work. I’m very happy—aside from staying healthy, we can also gather and socialize with neighbors and PT Timah employees. I hope this activity continues,” she said.
The same benefits were felt by Sumidah (61), a resident of RT 02 Teluk Rubiah, who said regular exercise has helped her feel more fit.
“At my age, my doctor recommends exercising regularly. Whenever there’s a group workout, I always join in. Exercising with PT Timah is fun, especially since there’s food and drinks afterward,” Sumidah said with a smile.
For Mariyani, a resident of RT 04 RW 06 Tanjung Pakdan, this was her first time joining an exercise event organized by PT Timah.
“Alhamdulillah, it’s great to gather in a family-like atmosphere. The exercise was fun, and afterward we could eat and drink together,” she said.
Gunawan, a representative from the Tanjung Village Community Empowerment Institute (LPM), appreciated PT Timah’s consistent efforts to hold positive activities for residents.
“This is an extraordinary activity. It would be great if it could be held more often and rotated across different locations. Besides promoting health, it also strengthens the relationship between residents and the company,” he said.
Nurmaniah, head of RT 04 RW 06 Teluk Rubiah, also hopes that group exercise sessions can become a regular agenda.
“Our residents are very happy. Thank you, PT Timah, and may you continue to thrive,” she said.
Through this initiative, PT Timah demonstrates its commitment not only to mining operations but also to caring for the health and togetherness of communities around its operational areas.
Group exercise is a simple yet meaningful way to promote a healthy lifestyle while maintaining close relationships among residents.
