BELITUNG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to encourage its business partners to strengthen regulatory compliance and implement standardized mining support service practices as part of its commitment to building a professional, safe, and sustainable mining industry.
As part of this effort, the company recently organized a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on the Implementation Guidelines for Standardization in Mining Support Services at the Grand Hatika Hotel in Tanjungpandan, Belitung. The event was attended by dozens of directors of mining service companies, business partners, and Operational Persons in Charge (PJO).
The training was warmly welcomed by participants. One of them, Suryadi, Director of CV Harapan Bumi Hijau, said the program provided valuable benefits for mining service partners.
According to him, the training not only enhanced participants' understanding of the latest regulations but also served as a platform for sharing experiences among mining service companies.
"We now have a shared understanding of the applicable regulations. Several regulations have changed, and we must adapt to them. We also realized that poor administrative management can affect our cooperation with PT TIMAH," he said.
He believes activities like this should be conducted regularly so that business partners can continue updating their knowledge in line with evolving regulations.
"Administrative compliance should never be overlooked because it serves as proof that mining activities are carried out properly and in accordance with regulations. Through training like this, we gain a better understanding of issues we may not have fully understood before and can gradually improve. We hope all business partners will become more disciplined in fulfilling their administrative obligations in accordance with the applicable regulations," he added.
Meanwhile, PT TIMAH Tbk's Director of Operations, Handy Geniardi, emphasized that strengthening corporate governance cannot be separated from the commitment of all business partners to comply with applicable standards and regulations.
He explained that the training focused on five key areas: improving compliance with regulations and good mining practices, strengthening productive partnerships, enhancing understanding of mining service companies' obligations, implementing standardization and technical evaluations in the field, and developing participants' competencies as agents of change.
"These five aspects form the foundation of better mining governance, ensuring that all operational activities are conducted in compliance with regulations, safely, and in a way that creates added value for both the company and its business partners," Handy said.
On the same occasion, Handy reaffirmed that the company's productivity must go hand in hand with occupational safety standards, legal compliance, and environmental protection.
"Let us continue building PT TIMAH into a world-class tin mining company that excels not only in business performance but also in corporate governance, workplace safety, and environmental stewardship. Effective collaboration is the key, regulations serve as our guide, and commitment remains the foundation of every mining activity," he concluded. (*)
