WEST BANGKA – Employees of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk in the Processing and Refinery Division, together with the congregation of Al Huda Mosque, worked hand in hand to slaughter qurban animals and distribute the meat to people in need on Wednesday (May 27, 2026).
The qurban slaughtering activity, held at PT TIMAH’s slaughterhouse, became a meaningful moment for employees to strengthen solidarity while sharing happiness with the surrounding community.
Chairman of the Qurban Committee, Alexander, said that for this year’s Eid al-Adha, the Al Huda Mosque congregation — consisting of PT TIMAH employees — slaughtered five cows and one goat.
“This year, Al Huda Mosque received qurban animals from the congregation, who are PT TIMAH employees, consisting of four cows, plus one cow donated by PT TIMAH and one goat from the congregation. All of these qurban animals came from the participation and concern of PT TIMAH personnel,” he said.
According to Alexander, the qurban meat was then distributed to various groups eligible to receive it, including orphans, the poor, outsourced workers (TAD), cleaning staff, Quran teachers, widows, and residents living around the company area.
“The qurban meat will be distributed to orphans, the poor, cleaning staff, Quran teachers, nearby residents, and the qurban committee so that the benefits can be felt more widely,” he explained.
One of the beneficiaries, Sewi (42), expressed gratitude because she receives qurban meat assistance from PT TIMAH every year.
“Thank God, every year we receive qurban assistance. Later, the meat will be cooked with the family for Eid al-Adha needs,” she said.
Similarly, Yanti Murdi (51) said she was happy and grateful to once again receive qurban meat this year.
“Every Eid al-Adha we are given meat by Al Huda Mosque. Thank you to PT TIMAH for sharing,” she said.
Previously, in Pangkalpinang City, PT TIMAH employees together with the congregation of Al Yusro Mosque also slaughtered qurban animals and distributed the meat to the community. (*)
