PANGKALPINANG -- MSME bazaars provide local entrepreneurs with opportunities to introduce their products while increasing sales. As part of this effort, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk regularly features MSME bazaars at various company events.
This time, PT TIMAH once again held a bazaar featuring its partner MSMEs as part of a series of activities, including the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) for Mining Service Companies (PJP), an eProc refresher session for user and technical representatives, and the FGD for PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Goods and Services Providers. The activities were held at Graha Timah from September 28–30, 2026.
The MSME bazaar featured a variety of culinary products, knitted goods, accessories, and other locally made products that were marketed directly to employees and event participants.
In addition to providing a space for MSMEs to sell their products, PT TIMAH also selected MSME products as souvenirs for participants. This support helps expand market access for local entrepreneurs while providing opportunities for their products to gain greater recognition.
For MSME owners, the opportunity to sell directly offers benefits beyond transactions. They can introduce their products, attract new customers, build relationships, and gain direct insight into consumer responses to their offerings.
One of the MSME owners participating in the bazaar was Nur Fatimah, owner of Hamidah Snack & Cake. She offered a variety of culinary products, including putu ayu, cream puffs, black sticky rice with melted cheese, and klappertaart.
She said she was pleased to once again participate in the bazaar. The products she brought to the event even sold out.
“Alhamdulillah, everything sold out yesterday. Today, I brought more products, and the results have been quite good. I have participated in events like this several times, and the impact has been remarkable. My sales revenue has increased,” Nur Fatimah said.
According to her, the bazaar provides valuable benefits because MSME products are not only purchased but also have the opportunity to gain wider recognition. So far, she has relied on WhatsApp, social media, and customer recommendations to promote her products.
“From our perspective, in addition to helping our products become better known, the bazaar provides promotional opportunities and allows us to meet other business partners. It is very helpful,” she said.
Another MSME owner, Nia Kurnia, offered a selection of beverages, including roselle tea, green tea, and Solo-style tea. According to her, employees’ enthusiasm for purchasing MSME products also helped boost sales.
“It is very helpful. PT TIMAH employees are also very supportive. While enjoying the products, they are also helping MSMEs,” she said.
She hopes MSMEs will have more frequent opportunities to participate in bazaars, providing local entrepreneurs with broader access to markets.
Sundari, owner of Pempek Ak Sun, shared a similar view. She offered mackerel pempek, shrimp pempek, and bakwan at the bazaar.
“The market has been somewhat slow recently. Events like this are very helpful in supporting MSME sales,” Sundari said.
According to her, bazaars provide MSME owners with a way to maintain sales while introducing their products to new customers. She hopes MSMEs will be given more frequent opportunities to participate in bazaars, including at events with relatively smaller numbers of participants.
“We hope to be invited more often. Even if an event is not particularly crowded, it still helps us a great deal,” she said.
Support through MSME bazaars and the use of MSME products as souvenirs provide two benefits for local entrepreneurs. Bazaars create opportunities for direct sales, while using local products as souvenirs expands their reach and introduces them to a wider audience. (*)
