PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk consistently demonstrates its commitment to supporting education. Through various assistance programs, PT Timah paves the way for young generations to achieve their dreams, including those from economically disadvantaged families.
The story of Nabila and Aprilia Maulina, two students from Bangka Belitung, is one example. Starting as scholarship recipients at PT Timah’s Pemali Boarding School (PBS), both have now continued their studies at Bangka Belitung University (UBB). Nabila chose Biology, while Aprilia pursued Agribusiness.
During their time at Pemali Boarding School, Nabila and Aprilia received full support from PT Timah, from learning facilities to daily needs. After graduation, that support did not stop. They continue to receive assistance to help cover their college needs.
“For three years at Pemali Boarding School, we didn’t spend a single cent. Now in college, PT Timah is still supporting us. This assistance means so much,” said Nabila.
Aprilia expressed the same gratitude, saying the support has eased her family’s burden.
“I am very grateful for PT Timah’s assistance. From PBS until now in college, PT Timah has always been there to ensure we receive proper education,” she said.
Rosmiati, Nabila’s mother, also shared her gratitude, admitting she never imagined her daughter would be able to attend university thanks to the support of a member of the Mining Industry Holding, MIND ID.
“Alhamdulillah, I am deeply grateful. This assistance has been a great help for children from low-income families. I hope PT Timah will continue to provide this education program for children in Bangka,” she said.
In carrying out its education programs, PT Timah collaborates with local governments, education offices, universities, and community organizations. This approach ensures that the programs are well-targeted and directly benefit the community.
