WEST BANGKA -- Supporting the development of young generations remains one of PT TIMAH Tbk's key priorities through various programs that foster outstanding talent in the fields of arts, culture, education, and youth empowerment.
One of these initiatives has benefited Putri Ade Fatimah, a young representative from West Bangka Regency, who brought pride to the Bangka Belitung Islands Province by winning the Duta Wastra Nusantara title at the 2026 Putri Otonomi Indonesia (POI) Pageant.
This achievement is not only a source of pride for West Bangka but also serves as an opportunity to introduce the region's rich cultural heritage, particularly its distinctive traditional textiles, to audiences across Indonesia.
As Duta Wastra Nusantara, Putri Ade Fatimah will be responsible for promoting the traditional textiles and cultural heritage of West Bangka through various national events, including the APKASI Expo 2026, which is scheduled to take place from August 26 to 31, 2026.
During the event, she will wear and showcase West Bangka's signature traditional textiles, including kain cual, through a variety of appearances, including fashion shows before participants from across Indonesia.
"I am truly happy to have the opportunity to introduce West Bangka on the national stage. I can bring our traditional textiles, such as kain cual, to be showcased to people from different regions through fashion shows and runway presentations. I hope they will be able to appreciate the beauty of West Bangka's culture through the traditional textiles we present," Putri said.
Putri acknowledged that her success in participating in the national competition would not have been possible without the support of many parties, including PT TIMAH, which provided both moral and financial assistance throughout her preparation and during the competition.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to PT TIMAH for the support they provided, both financially and through their encouragement. That support gave me greater confidence and enabled me to complete the entire 2026 Putri Otonomi Indonesia competition successfully," she said.
She also expressed her hope that PT TIMAH would continue supporting the youth of West Bangka so that more young people would be encouraged to pursue their dreams and achieve excellence in various fields.
"I hope PT TIMAH will continue to stand alongside the young generation of West Bangka, supporting us as we grow and pursue our biggest dreams," she said.
The Head of the West Bangka Regency Office of Culture and Tourism, Fahriansah, said that PT TIMAH has consistently contributed to developing the potential of young people while advancing the region's cultural and tourism sectors.
According to him, the company's support for Putri Ade Fatimah in the Putri Otonomi Indonesia Pageant is a clear demonstration of its commitment to strengthening the capacity and potential of the younger generation.
