PT Timah Collaborates with Bank Mandiri to Improve Financial Literacy Among Employees

PANGKALPINANG -- In an effort to enhance its employees’ financial literacy, PT Timah Tbk collaborated with Bank Mandiri to host a seminar titled “Building Financial Awareness Through Financial Planning”, held in a hybrid format from Graha Timah Pangkalpinang on Thursday (10/7/2025).

The seminar featured renowned speaker Prita H. Ghozie, Principal Consultant & CEO of Zap Finance, and was enthusiastically attended by PT Timah employees. The session covered essential topics in personal financial planning, including strategies for managing income and expenses, budgeting, investment, risk management, home ownership planning, and preparing for emergencies and retirement.

The initiative aimed to equip employees with fundamental financial management skills to help them plan their finances wisely and sustainably.

Vice President of Corporate Banking at Bank Mandiri, Made Mas Diarsi Devananda, expressed appreciation for PT Timah’s commitment to improving financial literacy among its workforce.

"Thank you to PT Timah for providing the time and space to share how important financial planning is. Through this, we can help improve financial literacy,” she said.

She emphasized that having a sound financial plan enables individuals to take the right financial steps early on, with the goal of achieving financial freedom while still young—not just after retirement.

Department Head of Risk Management & Compliance at PT Timah Tbk, Defryanto, shared that the seminar was part of the company’s effort to help employees manage their finances better for long-term well-being.

“We hope this activity boosts financial literacy. We believe that strong financial planning will lead to more stable and prosperous financial futures,” he stated.

During her talk, Prita H. Ghozie offered practical advice on how employees can achieve financial independence and enjoy a secure retirement.

“We all hope to retire in comfort—and that takes both effort and prayer. Financial independence means not relying on your parents as an emergency fund, not expecting your children to fund your retirement, and not relying on ‘pay-later’ as your pension plan,” she advised.

This seminar marks PT Timah’s continued commitment to supporting employee development, not just in the workplace, but also in personal and financial well-being.
