KARIMUN — PT Timah’s commitment to supporting sustainable development continues to be realized through its livable housing program for low-income communities.
The construction of decent housing by PT Timah is not only aimed at improving the quality of life of the people but also serves as a tangible contribution to the government's efforts to alleviate poverty.
Between January and June 2025, PT Timah has built three livable houses for residents in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province.
In collaboration with local government and communities, PT Timah is providing safe and comfortable homes for those in need.
One of the beneficiaries, Iwan, expressed his gratitude to PT Timah and the 0317 TBK Military District Command (Kodim) for helping him and his family gain access to a more suitable home.
“Thank you PT Timah and Kodim 0317 TBK for providing my family and me with a proper home. Wishing PT Timah continued success,” he said.
Similarly, Nasir, a resident of Gemuruh Village, Bukit Senang, Kundur District, said he can now sleep peacefully after his home was renovated by PT Timah in cooperation with Kodim 0317/TBK.
He shared his gratitude for the support from the company and the military, especially given his financial struggles, which made it difficult to improve his home on his own.
“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to PT Timah and Kodim 0317/TBK for renovating my house. I can now sleep peacefully and comfortably. Thank you so much,” he said.
PT Timah continues to implement the livable housing program in its operational areas. This program is expected to help improve the quality of life and support government efforts in poverty alleviation.
In 2024, PT Timah assisted in the construction of 33 livable homes for communities in the Bangka Belitung and Riau Islands provinces.
