PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting local economic empowerment by distributing business capital assistance to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK).
In collaboration with BRI, PT Timah Tbk provided capital loans to 106 MSMEs in the first semester of 2025, with a total disbursement of IDR 4.5 billion.
The PUMK program is expected to serve as a stimulant to drive community economic activity, enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs, and create new job opportunities.
This capital assistance has been distributed to business players across various sectors, including culinary, handicrafts, trade, marine fisheries, agriculture, and services. With this additional capital, MSMEs are expected to expand their businesses, widen their market reach, and improve their families’ welfare.
Since its inception in 2000, PT Timah’s PUMK program has benefited more than 9,000 MSMEs, many of which continue to thrive and grow today.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, explained that MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy, and the company remains committed to supporting their growth within its operational areas.
“PT Timah Tbk not only supports MSMEs by strengthening their capital but also provides coaching, promotional assistance, and helps market products of our fostered partners. With this, we hope MSMEs can grow independently and become the driving force of the local economy,” he said.
Beyond capital assistance, PT Timah also offers mentoring programs such as business management training, digital marketing, and financial management. Through this approach, the company aims for MSMEs not only to survive but also to grow sustainably.
This initiative is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), which focuses on community empowerment. By strengthening MSMEs, it is expected that new jobs will be created, people’s purchasing power will increase, and economic equality can be achieved. (*)
