PT TIMAH Becomes a Strategic Partner of Bangka Regency Government in Driving Development, Regent Shares Hopes on the 260th Anniversary of Sungailiat

BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its strategic role in driving regional development, particularly in Bangka Regency. The company’s contributions extend beyond the economic sector, including active synergy with the local government across various development programs.

Coinciding with the 260th Anniversary of Sungailiat, PT TIMAH established a cooperation agreement on Joint Land Utilization (PPLB) with the Bangka Regency Government in the Jelitik area on Monday (April 27, 2026).

The cooperation was facilitated by the High Prosecutor’s Office, bringing both parties together to encourage the optimization of land use for regional development.

Bangka Regent Fery Insani stated that PT TIMAH has long been an important part of the region’s development journey, noting that he has witnessed the company’s contributions since his childhood.

“Despite various dynamics, we see PT TIMAH as one of the main drivers of the economy in Bangka Regency. Therefore, we support its presence,” he said.

According to him, the tin mining sector remains the backbone of the regional economy. Therefore, synergy between the company and the local government is crucial, not only in terms of production but also in regional development.

Fery added that PT TIMAH is a strategic partner of the Bangka Regency Government. So far, the relationship between the two parties has been strong and harmonious, without significant obstacles.

“For us, PT TIMAH is a strategic partner. Our relationship has been very good and consistently aligned in supporting development,” he said.

On the occasion of the 260th anniversary of Sungailiat, great hopes are placed on the region’s future progress. The local government is optimistic that, with support from various stakeholders including PT TIMAH, development in Bangka Regency will continue to grow.

“We hope things will continue to improve. Tin remains a key economic driver for the people of Bangka, despite the presence of other sectors, so its role greatly influences regional conditions,” Fery said.

Through its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, PT TIMAH continues to implement various initiatives in Bangka Regency that touch multiple sectors, including health, education, economy, environment, infrastructure, and social and religious activities.

Some of these programs include the Healthy Mobile service that reaches communities across Bangka Regency, support for fishermen groups in collaboration with HNSI and local communities, and mangrove planting in coastal areas.

In the education sector, PT TIMAH also consistently provides scholarship programs through the PT TIMAH Scholarship Class held at SMAN 1 Pemali in Bangka Regency. (*)
