BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk through its CSR program provides lighting assistance, in the form of the installation of one KWH Meter unit for fishermen's piers in estuary grooves, sea road environment, Matras village, Sungailiat Subdistrict, Bangka Regency, Monday (10/25/2021).
To arrive at the dock the team must down the path to the estuary groove. There were dozens of fishing boats. The high activity of fishermen who go to sea at night, making lighting an obstacle for fishermen in carrying out their activities.
Based on this, making Donni head of the Marine Road Environment, Matras village took the initiative to apply for the assistance of lighting facilities, in the form of the installation of KWH Meters to PT Timah Tbk.
"Previously the fishermen only used ahead flashlight as their lighting device when going to sea or returning from the sea," said Donni.
Not only that, but the limitations of lighting are also dangerous for fishermen when going down to the boat or up to the dock.
"The worry is that it will slip because visibility is not wide. In addition to being a means of lighting the pier, electricity can later be utilized by residents in other forms, for example, to repair boats or so on, "continued Donni.
Donni is very grateful for the help provided by PT Timah, not without the reason that the pier they have every morning is always crowded with residents around Sungailiat to buy fresh fish directly such as krisi, ciu, and others.

Senada Afu (52) local fishermen told since decades ago he had used this pier every day.
"From the age of 16 years until now I am still at sea, all this time I if I go to sea between 02.00 WIB to 03.00 WIB, of course this becomes an obstacle when lighting facilities are not feasible," he said.
He appreciated the information assistance from PT Timah Tbk, because this is indeed needed by his side.
