PT Timah Kundur Region deployed one anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel to evacuate the Tanjung Berlian people's pier, which sank due to adverse weather conditions, on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
The Head of the Tanjung Berlian Regional Port Business Entity, Latinurli, appreciated PT Timah for promptly assisting in raising the sunken pier. He hoped that with this aid, the repair activities could be carried out promptly so that community activities could resume smoothly.
"Hopefully, with this assistance, the repair activities can be carried out immediately so that community activities can run smoothly. Thank you for the company's assistance in deploying an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel to evacuate the sunken port pontoon," he said.
Similarly, the Head of North Kundur Subdistrict, Murnizam, appreciated PT Timah for its assistance in lifting the pier, so that repairs could be carried out promptly by the relevant parties and could be put back into operation soon.
According to Murnizam, the port is very vital as a supporting facility for the community's daily activities.
"Now we can see that with this damage, the community's activities are disrupted. If we rely only on inadequate equipment, it will undoubtedly take a long time and days, and certainly, the community's activities will also be greatly disrupted," he said.
He hoped that the synergy and collaboration with PT Timah could continue so that they could continue to help the community in their area.
