PT Timah and TNI Collaboration Brings Benefits to the Community, From Social Programs to Environmental Conservation

PANGKALPINANG — PT Timah Tbk has established a synergistic collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to provide benefits to the community. This partnership reflects the synergy between the defense sector and industry in supporting social and economic development for the public.

Various activities carried out by PT Timah in collaboration with TNI include social programs, improving community welfare, environmental restoration, and enhancing public infrastructure.

One form of collaboration between PT Timah and TNI is the provision of free medical services through the Bakti Kesehatan (Health Service) program of Korem 045/Garuda Jaya in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of TNI in 2024.

This free healthcare service, facilitated by PT Timah’s Mobile Health unit, took place at the Batin Tikal Level IV Hospital in Pangkalpinang on Sunday (September 22, 2024).

Additionally, PT Timah partnered with Kodim 0431 West Bangka to build two bore wells in the Mentok District, plant trees together, and provide health services to the community.

Previously, PT Timah collaborated with the Indonesian Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) in the TNI AD Manunggal Air Program to build 20 bore wells in two regencies of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The symbolic inauguration of the bore wells took place in Beriga Village, Lubuk District, Central Bangka Regency.

In August 2024, PT Timah also provided healthcare services through its Mobile Health unit during the closing ceremony of the 121st TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) program in Namang Village, Central Bangka.

As a member of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding, PT Timah also collaborated with TNI to support environmental conservation through tree-planting and greening initiatives.

To support rural infrastructure development, PT Timah worked together to build sanitation facilities (MCK) in the agro-tourism area of Tebing Village, Kelapa District, West Bangka Regency.

Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah, stated that the collaboration between PT Timah and TNI demonstrates both institutions' commitment to continuously contribute positively to society.

“We are proud to collaborate with TNI in helping the community. This is clear evidence that the partnership between the industrial and defense sectors can significantly impact social development,” said Anggi. (*)
