MANGKAUK -- PT Tanjung Alam Jaya (TAJ), a subsidiary of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, is supporting efforts to strengthen food security and boost agricultural productivity in communities surrounding its operational area.
Through its Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), PT TAJ provided a tractor and a rice thresher to the Pancahan Farmers Group in Mangkauk Village, Pengaron Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, on Tuesday (September 1, 2026).
The assistance is expected to help farmers improve efficiency in land preparation and post-harvest processing while reducing the time and labor required for agricultural activities.
The equipment was handed over directly by PT Tanjung Alam Jaya President Director Didik Riyadi, accompanied by members of the company’s management team. The initiative is part of PT TAJ’s community empowerment efforts to provide tangible benefits and strengthen the self-reliance of communities around its operations.
Didik Riyadi said the agricultural equipment was provided in response to the challenges faced by farmers, particularly the considerable time and labor required to carry out farming activities using conventional methods.
“We hope this assistance will help increase farmers’ productivity. By using more modern agricultural equipment, farmers can work more efficiently, increase production, and contribute to strengthening food security in a sustainable way,” Didik said.
He explained that the tractor would help farmers prepare their land more quickly and efficiently, while the rice thresher would streamline post-harvest processing and reduce reliance on manual labor.
The equipment is expected to provide long-term benefits and be used by the farmers’ group across multiple planting seasons, helping them improve the efficiency and productivity of their agricultural activities.
Mangkauk Village Head M. Subeli expressed his appreciation for PT Tanjung Alam Jaya’s support, particularly the assistance provided to the Pancahan Farmers Group.

Subeli said the availability of modern agricultural equipment would provide additional support for farmers as they develop their agricultural activities in the village. He also expressed hope that similar community empowerment programs would continue and reach more residents in the future.
